A soft rustle of leaves hit the pavement, a sweet night moving to wards the horizons glow. It would be dark soon, the lights would emerge from the cities docks and flood past the blinding night.
Soon it would be time for the Vampires.
A crackle hit the evening air, a slight crunch from a screaming leaf, crumpled and dead upon the pavement.
Moving his foot away from the now mutilated leaf, Sheath stared back up at the sky, his eyes becoming a slight diamond glaze.
Soon he would find his followers.
Leaning back against the brick wall, Sheath made sure not to let his incredibly pale skin touch the suns hazy last glow. He didn't like the sun, not even a little bit.
It didn't matter, it would be going down in a matter of minutes, and Sheath could barely contain his excitement.
Today he was going to find some new recruits.
He had waited for so long to make sure his fellow kin had been in order, he had tested and tempted everyone of his followers, to make sure that they were ready. Ready for some new followers.
This was one of the best parts, finding fresh blood.
Of coarse he had already picked out a few humans he would be glad to change, but he still wanted his options open.
Looking back to wards the street, past the dead leaf, Sheath noted the many people, eying each one with intrigue.
Someone would be changed tonight.
