The wind had picked up in the night, as it so often did in the Silver Mountains. It meant that Aric had to run through a small flurry of light snow, nothing near a snow storm, but a hinderance none the less. Most people had gone inside now, whatever work was to be done outside was just about finished, now it was time to night watch, but that would be difficult, given the cloud cover approaching. Perhaps that would fade away in a few hours and leave the fair night for them to explore. Aric wasn't thinking about the night, or the clouds at that point though.

It didn't take Aric too long, despite the snow, to get to the tower. He had never really walked that far from it. Scout flew down onto his shoulder, not wanting to spend the night outside. She rarely did unless Aric was out with her.

Aric entered the room just as the girl was closing her eyes. She had retained the mysterious and cold beauty she had when she was unconscious, but how it seemed to glow, magnified as it was by the new life running through her veins.

Aric suddenly felt oddly self conscious and embarrased and for a moment he faltered, forgetting what he had been planning on saying.

Her eyes opened slowly once more, the dull blue eyes looking at him quietly and...curiously...
He was meerly a boy....though how old was uncertain...
He had a bird perched on his shoulder as well...
She looked around for a moment then looked back at him.
Her hands were propping her up, keeping her up.
Her strength was badly drained and her side ached terribly but...she kept reminding herself that she had been through worse.
Quietly she stared at him for a moment before speaking...
"Who are you...Why am I here?"
Her voice was like music but still it was struggled and rusty.

"I . . . ah . . ." Then Aric finally got a hold of himself. He shook his head slightly, causing Scout to move further down his shoulder and chirrup in annoyance. Aric bowed, lower than he normally would, and came back up to look at the girl . . . or rather woman, for she looked older now that she was recovered. Older than Aric in any case.

"I am Aric Norwood, Guildmaster of the Night Guild. You are at the Night Guild. The tower of Night Watching to be exact. I, er, I found you in the mountains and brought you back here."

Aric stood, watching her again, and his pale blue eyes drifted up to her wings, a stark contrast to her albinistic complexion. He shifted his weight from one foot to the other, and rubbed one hand against a midnight blue robed arm. He felt strange around her, almost on edge, though he doubted that was a correct way to describe it.

"But who are you?" Aric asked. "What is your story?"

She looked around....The Night Guild?
She had never heard of such a place, nor had she ever been in one.
His blue eyes narrowed as he spoke, noticing his gaze towards her wings.
Then she looked down at her hands, and sighed...God she was pale. Normally she was never this....pale skinned..It must have been from the blood loose.
She then looked back up and him and said,"I'm Naka...I was in the mountains and..."
She trailed off...unsure on what to say. The past events buzzed in her head, still trying to remember and peice together all that had happened....So much in so little time.
Her eyes softened and she spoke again.
"I was....in a fight....I..was badly injured..."
Her hand went to her stomach, though there was no obvious injury...
"I don't remember how I go into the mountains..."

Aric took a step further into the room so that he could sit on one of the chairs nearby. He was still on edge, to be sure, but not so much as he had been a moment ago. Perhaps knowing something about her history helped him with that, though she was still largely a mystery to him.

Naka. It wasn't a name he was familiar with in any case. Perhaps it was foreign. She didn't look like she came from Arna, so he ruled that out, perhaps she was a fallen angel. He guessed that would make more sense, considering the wings. The way she looked reminded him of the snow of the Silver Mountains, though the snow was more sparse now, considering it was summer, in winter, had she not have black wings this woman could easily have disappeared into the background. Could she have been from Brinter? Aric had never heard of people living there, but he assumed there were a lot of things in the world that alluded his knowledge.

Aric's eyes followed her hand to her stomach, and that confused him. her wound was at her side. He shrugged it off though, maybe it was just a reaction. He could only assume she had an upset stomach after what she had been though.

He leaned forward in his seat, eyes narrowed in curiousity. "If you don't mind my asking, m'lady, but . . . what are you?" He paused. "And who were you fighting?"

Her blue eyes looked back down at the hand on her stomach, a shiver rippling through her.
Then she turned back up to him....
"I....I don't know..."
Her eyes were sincerly confused and unsure....She was completely lost at the moment, like she didn't even know who she was....
Her hand moved away from her stomach and she sighed.
"I...I think I'm a fallen Angel...."
The next question made her shutter.....an obvious flash of both fear and....sadness...
"I fought......my friend....or rather...my enemy....I'm not sure.."
She looked up at him and said,"I'm sorry...I'm just...confused.."

Aric didn't move a muscle. He stood, tall and rigid just looking at this woman that had him so curious and so on edge. His hair was almost reaching his eyes, so they covered his eyebrows, but he could still see clearly out of them. His eyes were piercingly blue, and stared ceaselessly out at the girl. She was confusing him, but he wasn't showing it. His face was nearly impassive, save for the obvious curiousity. His want to learn as much as he could about her.

But what he was looking for he didn't get. Naka seemed genuinely just as confused as Aric. Neither of them really knew. All he could hope for on that front was that in time, she would remember, or see fit to tell him.

But Angel. That made sense. In the Night Guild Aric rarely met Fallen Angels, but he had heard about them. Everyone had heard about them.

Aric finally moved a step closer.

"Don't think too hard." He said in as close as his voice got to gently. "You just got out of surgery. You might remember it . . . in time."

She looked up at him, shy a little...
She wasn't sure who she could trust or who she couldn't...
Her life was whirlwind of confusion and her head ached from jsut thinking about it...
Then she looked down at her hands, the pale skin almost surprising her..
"Is it permittable if I wish to walk around? I think I might go crazy if I stay laying down too long."
She smiled, her smiled was brilliant...like the sun.
The sadness was there but...it was as if the light of her spirit still shinned.
Then she ran a hand through her thick mane of silky white hair and said,"Would you mind helping me up?"
She quietly pulled the covers off her legs and scooted them over the edge of the bed.
Her feet were bare, her boots sitting at the edge of her bed but she didn't feel like wearing them...she wanted to feel the solid ground beneath her feet, to feel the life surging through this place...this Night Guild.

"Would you mind helping me up?"
Aric almost didn't hear her, so distracted was he by her legs. He was, very untactfully, nearly quite ataring at them. They were pale, but perfectly shaped and the skin was flawless. Aric could have reached out just to feel them, to rub his hands along them, but, of course, he knew better than that.

Realising he had been staring he quickly looked up, slightly red in the face, and offered his hand for her to help up. His whole body froze in the lead up to feeling what her skin might be like, he cursed the fact he was wearing his dark blue gloves, but he was never seen without them, for good reason.

"Would you like some company while you explore the Guild?" Aric asked, without even thinking about what he was saying. He decided it best to just go with whatever his brain strung together. "Perhaps a tour guide?" He smiled, showing white teeth against light skin.

She was wearing a white tanktop and white shorts that seemed to almost be pajama clothes..
Her blue eyes flashed for a moment and suddenly they were completely different. No longer the icy blue but a brilliant sapphire blue, droplets of the ocean set into her eyes.
She smiled when she felt his gaze, feeling the rays from his eyes as he stared at her.
He had to be young. He didn't seem very old...possibly about 16 but he was nice enough.
Then she took his hand and stood, her legs weak at first but soon they were firm and stable.
She stepped forward, still holding his hand as she walked forward to get her feet back.
Her touch was surprisingly warm, gentle. From everything she had been through, her warmth was almost overwhelming...warm and firy.
She chuckled and said,"I feel like a child learning to walk again."
Then she walked over to her cloak and silently slipped it on, her warm locking away in the mysterious shadows.
Then she looked up at him and said,"Lead the way."

Aric watched the change in her eyes with interest, and he couldn't help but try and look further and further into them. It was almost levelled, like the ocean itself with currents underneath the waves, and underneath the current were the darting water animals, and beneath that was a darker, slower movement that was a mystery.

He could feel the warmth of her hand through his glove and was almost ashamed of his own cold skin, thankfully the glove stopped his skin from making her's cold.

He smiled at her mention of learning to walk and helped her along until she was stable enough to get to her coat and pull it on, hiding to her legs. Much to Aric's dislike, but he was nowhere near saying it.

He gathered his wits about him and began walking out of the room, trusting that she would follow him.

"Where would you like to go first? I can show you the grounds or the towers if you want a view, or we could leave the Guild entirely and find our own place in the Mountains."

"Well, you are the tour guide. I am simply here for the ride. You lead the way and I will follow. It is the least I can do to thank you for helping me."
She smiled lightly and followed him, her bare feet making no noise as she quietly walked beside him.
Her blue eyes taking in all the strange new things around her.
It was odd....she had never heard of this place.
Although...she hadn't seen all of the world. There were still places on earth that still maintained some type of sanity...some sort of normallity..

Aric nodded and quickly decided what he wanted to do. Perhaps his curiousity was becoming too strong; perhaps what he was planning was not nice, or right. But he needed to do it. For his sake and Naka's. He walked outside the tower. It was still night, and the moon was at it's peak in the cloudless sky. The wind was slightly cold, but Aric had grown climatised to it, but he wondered about how Naka would react to the cold. She was that outlandish to him that he wouldn't be surprised if she didn't feel it. The moon was full and large in the sky. It's white rays lanced through the night sky and landed on the snow, where it reflected all around them. A white wonderland, and it was at the peak of its beauty in the night. The sky was alight with thousands of stars that could not be seen in the cities, and Aric knew the name of each one.

"We're a self sufficient community here," Aric said to Naka, walking behind him, gesturing towards the farm and orchards of hardy, snow proof trees. "That's why we aren't heard off all too much outside the Silver Mountains. We ask no other people for supplies and we don't get too many travellers. Still, the community of astronomers and astrologers, and anyone with an interest in the night has always found solace here. We have never turned away a broken soul lost in the snow, not in my reign here anyway, or my father's." He grimaced slightly, but continued talking. "We're a fairly small group at the moment, but astronomers come and go often and they say that night watching is becoming more popular in the lands nearby . . . I've never been away from the Silver Mountains, so I wouldn't know, but I hope it is." He suddenly turned around to Naka. "Do stop me if I start boring you."

He pointed up at the sky. "You see there, the stars where I'm pointing? Can you see the shape of the scorpion, the Scorpio, and there, the ram, that is Aries."

Then Aric stopped, and with the reflected light of the white moon shining at him from all angles he turned around to look at Naka. They had walked back to the place where he had found her. He had led her here, hoping she would remember.

Her eyes watched him as they wandered the Guild, her ears open to all he had to say.
It seemed to be a place that was one of a kind. It was a community that lived only with the work the people within it did. It was a strong place, she could sense that much. The people seemed kind and open to her and they didn't look at her too long to signal any type of hostility.
Her feet made no noise, her legs working well but still weak.
"No, you are not boring me."
She smiled at him, her arm still loops around his as they walked through the snow place.
She could feel the cold but from all that had happened, she feared that her heart was too cold for even a place like this. She didn't want to become cold towards these people and this was probably the only way to get back into the swing of things. She had to get back to normal and this place seemed like a good a place as any.
Quietly she looked up at the sky as he pointed out the constilations and the formations of the stars. They were beautiful, wonderous organizations of brilliant balls of fire in the night sky.
Her eyes suddenly, however, recognized the place they were standing...it was the same place he had found her...
It seemed distant and harsh but...she didn't look like she remembered anything.
The memories of her past were fresh in her mind but she wasn't sure she wanted to share them yet...they were far too...intense for her to even think of without regretting so much...
